The net became a 'home away from home' just over 2 years ago. In that time I've discovered wondrous sites and exceptional people. Now that I'm a netizen with my own site I can recommend them to others. -grins- and isn't that what Links are all about? As my friends give me the nod I'll add more links so this is another 'work in progress'.
His handle is
Glidefan and he's an artist working with Maya. For those who don't know, the makers of Maya, Alias|Wavefront, just won an Oscar. For once this award could not have gone to a more deserving recipient. When you visit Glidefan be sure to check out BJ's Corner :D
The
Sdhlain are co-operative stories. I /am/ a bit biased but 'Purple' is an excellent writer. I'm a colour too :D I /think/ I know who one of the other colours is but he will 'neither confirm nor deny' it.
Allow me to introduce
'Anne', a fellow Aussie living as an expat in the US...hence the name of her site. Instead of just experiencing the sometimes weird cultural shifts, Anne recorded them on her site and wrote a soon to be published book about them. We're all a weird mob and Anne's site is one of the best places to find out what makes us tick.
Blakbox is the home of the gentle giant. He used to be the Master Spammer but his other credits include being a talented web developer, a hardware nut and all-round good friend. I recently discovered that he is also a brilliant amateur photographer.
The good
Doctor is IN! Another good Guru friend who surprised me by being musical as well!
Dfwny is notorious for compiling a dictionary :D If you want to know more you'll have to ask him yourself!!!
And now for something a little different, 'little' being the operative word! No, I'm not talking about ponies or people, I'm talking about the glorious gardens in miniature that are the bonsai. I know next to nothing about the hows and whys, all I know is that the finished product is a living, growing work of art. To find out more I recommend going to
The Bonsai Tree Forums.
This site has caused me hours of hardwork. It also happens to be one of the best places on the net for learning how to use
CSS. They also have HTML tutorials and the site is well worth bookmarking if you like hand coding and need a good resource.
Enter here for one of the best, simplest, most easy to follow basic
HTML tutorials.
Another
HTML/CSS resource. The reason I like this one is because the guy has a sense of humour!
I found this site invaluable for basic
networking. If you're like me and learning from the bottom up then places like these are like water in the desert when you're lost. Too often experts write for other experts, not realising that it's us dumb luddites who really need the help!
Last but not least one of the best
hardware sites on earth. It also happens to be a great place to chat.
